She was named Australia’s favourite female vocalist of all time in a news.com.au poll, is one of this country’s best-selling and most award-winning female artists, achieved the Knighthood of the Order of National Merit in France for her contributions to French culture and arts and a string of chart successes stretching 25 years under her belt.
There’s not much Tina Arena hasn’t done across her career and it’s for her wide range of successes, along with her contributions to the Australian music landscape that she’ll be inducted into the Hall Of Fame at this year’s ARIA Awards.
“On behalf of ARIA it is with great honour that we induct Tina Arena into the ARIA Hall of Fame on Thursday 26th November at the 2015 ARIA Awards,” ARIA CEO Dan Rosen said in a statement today. “The longevity of her recording career is a testament to enduring talent and artistry. We are proud to see Tina take her place amongst the icons of the Australian music industry in the ARIA Hall of Fame.”
Understandably, Tina herself is more than a little chuffed with the honour.
“What a thrill to receive this recognition for what has been an incredible journey so far. I look forward to sharing this milestone with my peers along with the Australian public,” she said.
The 2015 ARIA Awards take over Sydney’s Star Events Centre on Thursday November 26.
