Clearly Australia’s favourite new pop son, Perth’s Troye Sivan has confirmed the December 04 release of his long-awaited debut album ‘Blue Neighbourhood’.
No doubt capitalising on the recent No.1 success of his ‘Wild’ mini LP, the singer will launch his long player headlong into the busy pre-Christmas period, where it’ll compete with albums from the likes of One Direction, Justin Bieber and, if rumours are correct, Adele.
The LP comprises ten tracks on the standard edition, while a deluxe edition will extend the tracklist to 16 songs, including a remix of ‘Wild’ and the entire contents of the previously-released EP of the same name. Guest vocalists on the LP include Allday and Betty Who.
“It’s all autobiographical,” the singer says of the album. “It takes place in both the suburbs of Perth where I’ve grown up, which I consider to be my blue neighbourhood, but then also in this fast-paced, crazy, whirlwind life that I’m now living in hotel rooms and planes. And it takes place inside the mind of a 20-year-old kid. I wanted to make sure that youthfulness was there; I worked mostly with really, really young people on this record.”
To celebrate the launch of ‘Blue Neighbourhood’, Troye has also announced his first ever Australian live shows. Set down for the middle of next month in Sydney and Perth only, they’ll be the first chance for fans to hear some of the new material in the live arena.
A Frontier pre-sale kicks off from Monday next week, with general public tickets going live at 10am local time on Friday October 23.
