Gorgeous American songstress Sara Bareilles, who’s gifted us two ARIA charts hits across her career (2007’s ‘Love Song’ and 2013’s 2014 Aussie hit ‘Brave’) is back with the first visual taste of her forthcoming new album ‘What’s Inside : Songs from Waitress’.
As revealed on the site LAST MONTH, the LP, due on November 06, is a collection of songs Sara penned for her new Broadway musical entitled (you guessed it) ‘Waitress’.
‘She Used To Be Mine’ is Sara looking back on her younger self, revealing the fragile, emotional girl of her youth.
It’s sublime. And Sara does her work as the storyteller utterly beguilingly; we hang on every single word as it tumbles out of her mouth with such care, fragility and tenderness.
It won’t be a commercial hit, but ‘She Used To Be Mine’ more than deserves its time in the sunshine.
