British singer Jess Glynne has enjoyed an extraordinary run of chart success in her homeland thus far, with a staggering five number one singles and a number one album under her belt, all in little more than 24 months.
Her popularity is catching on around the world too. Here in Australia, for example, she recently hit the top ten for the first time as a solo artist with her track ‘Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself’ and premiered at No.7 on the albums chart with ‘I Cry When I Laugh’.
She’s renowned for her more uptempo recordings, but on new single ‘Take Me Home’, she strips things right down (in more ways than one), delivering a touching ballad that showcases the rawness and honesty of her vocal.
It might not get her to the top of the pops again, but ‘Take Me Home’ gives us the opportunity to hear that incredible talent sans the beats, blips and electronic trickery.
