St Lucia, that ebullient-looking bunch of people in the picture above, have confirmed that their sophomore album ‘Matter’ will drop at the end of next month.
Though the synthpop band’s 2013 debut didn’t achieve the commercial success many may have hoped for, it did put them firmly in the pop spotlight, quickly gaining them international recognition and widespread acclaim.
The next taste of the new album comes in the form of the latest single ‘Physical’, which is all about letting go.
“Physical is about giving up control in a sexual situation and having an intimate experience that is purely carnal in nature,” according to the band’s main man Jean-Philip Grobler. “The music and lyrics develop together: a minimal and tight first half of the song makes way for a lush coda, just as the ‘physical’ experience moves from tension to release.”
Comprising eleven tracks in all, ‘Matter’ will be released on Friday January 29.
