Emma Louise returned to the pop fore at the beginning of last month with her latest single ‘Underflow’. But it’s taken until the middle of December for the Brisbane starlet to reveal the song’s official video.
“I wrote ‘Underflow’ about that feeling that swells up inside of you when you know that things in your life are about to change,” Emma says of the new single. “It’s like an undercurrent that at first you ignore, and it builds and builds until you know you need to make a decision, albeit hard and scary at the time. Then the change comes, and everything is new and different.”
It’s a truly beautiful piece of film, which starts out with a brittle, pale and almost lifeless body on the studio floor. But that undercurrent she mentions above swells to the surface in the choruses, at which point things erupt into a celebration of colour. Skins are shed and life begins anew.
