Nerina Pallot has bobbed up on the pages of auspOp more than a handful of times over the past few years, as she launched 12 EPs within 12 months back in 2014 and followed those up with the release of her new album ‘The Sound And The Fury’ last September.
‘If I Had A Girl’ is the latest song to be plucked for single duties and it’s one with a strong message of female empowerment; Nerina describes it as a feminist ode to the daughter she doesn’t have.
“I have a small son. No matter how far we think we’ve come, I can tell you for a fact life is already a hell of a lot less complicated for him at the age of four than it is for his female counterpart,” she said.
The release is accompanied by a music video, in which drag performer Max Allen invites us into his studio to allow us to witness his remarkable transformation.
