Fans of ’90s British girl group All Saints will be thrilled to know that Universal Music has today officially serviced the girls’ new single ‘One Strike’ to Australian media.
It’s been almost ten years since the group’s last album ‘Studio 1’, which gifted us the single ‘Rock Steady’, but they’re back, together again, raring to go again and in fine form on their new track.
And it’s a track close to member Nicole Appleton’s heart; penned by bandmate Shaznay Lewis about the breakdown of her marriage.
“When I write, I just think about what’s on my mind,” Shaznay says of the song. “The lyrics came from somewhere very real. Nic was going through a lot of things at that time. That was at the forefront of my mind because it was the heaviest thing going on.”
“The first few times I heard it in my car,” says Nicole’s sister Natalie, “I couldn’t stop crying because I could hear so clearly what it was about.”
As revealed here on the site on Wednesday, the girls’ new album ‘Red Flag’ will also get an Australian release – on Friday April 08.
