Birdy’s back. And though she may have struggled to achieve the same level of success as her breakout singles ‘People Help The People’ and, moreover, ‘Skinny Love’ over the last few years, but her music career marches on with the release of ‘Keeping Your Head Up’ from her forthcoming album ‘Beautiful Lies’.
It’s an album she’s described as a “coming of age record”.
“I’ve learned so much in the last few years and have been able to use the many experiences – good and bad – as inspiration when writing this album,” she says. “This is the album that I’ve been able to steer most confidently and proudly, from the writing to the production to the artwork. A lot of the album is about finding light in the dark and overcoming the times when we feel completely lost.”
One listen of ‘Keeping Your Head Up’ and it’s not difficult to understand why it was chosen as the lead single – there’s a commercial pop sensibility to it that will ensure the radio airplay additions come thick and fast.
