Gorgeous Aussie songstress Sarah Blasko dropped the video for her latest single ‘I Wanna Be Your Man’ on Friday.
The latest song to be plucked for single status from her 2015 album ‘Eternal Return’, ‘I Wanna Be Your Man’ is about the desire to be treated as an equal within a relationship.
“Or, better still,” Sarah says, “Someone that you could look up to. It’s something I’ve often found myself longing for in what has often been described as a ‘man’s world’.”
“With the video, Warwick (Thornton) and I wanted to take the intention some steps further by bringing another perspective into the meaning of the song. To highlight the ambiguity that exists in what we describe as a ‘man’ or a ‘woman’ and in the realms of sexuality and desire. We also sought to make it clear that no one can speak for anyone else or perhaps ever fully comprehend their perspective, we can only allow others to have their voice and admire them for their differences as well as their similarities.”
To best illustrate this, Sarah and Warwick have enlisted the services of Sydney performance artist Aaron Manhattan, who performs the track alongside Sarah against a silhouetted red backdrop.
