The nominees have been revealed for the 2016 APRA Awards, which will be held in Sydney early next month.
Jarryd James and Sia both lead the field with four nominations apiece, and the pair will battle it out against each other in the ‘Most Played Australian Work’ and ‘Pop Work Of The Year’ categories.
Perth pop purveyor Troye Sivan scores a nod in the ‘Breakthrough Songwriter Of The Year’ category, while in the Pop Work Of The Year category, it’ll be a battle between Jarryd James, Sia, Jessie J (her Sia-penned song ‘Flashlight’), Vance Joy and The Veronicas.
Taylor Swift is up twice in the ‘International Work Of The Year’ category – for ‘Blank Space’ and ‘Style’; she’s up against Omi’s ‘Cheerleader’, Maroon 5’s ‘Sugar’ and the international smash ‘Uptown Funk’ by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars.
The 2016 APRA Music Awards will be held at Carriageworks in Sydney on Tuesday April 05.
