The video for Dami Im’s Eurovision single ‘Sound Of Silence’ debuted overnight, following on from the unveiling of snippets on a variety of SBS platforms yesterday.
The song itself is a big, dramatic pop ballad (no key change) that gives Dami every opportunity to showcase that booming voice of hers. And, if the staging’s right for her appearance in the second semi final over in Stockholm on May 12 (let’s face it, she’ll smash it vocally), Dami will sail through to the Grand Final of Eurovision two nights later.
The clip is dark and moody – just what the Eurovision faithful will love (well, that and the topless male contemporary dancer in it) – and Dami looks a million dollars in her designer threads.
‘Sound Of Silence’ was co-written by Anthony Egizii and David Musumeci from Sydney’s DNA songs; the same boys who’ve been behind some of Australia’s biggest hits over the past few years, including The Veronicas’ comeback single ‘You Ruin Me’, Nathaniel’s ‘You’, Delta Goodrem’s latest ‘Wings’ and even Dami’s previous single ‘Alive’.
It’s available digitally now, with a special two track CD single release due into stores on Friday April 01.
