In many ways, ‘Desire’ was the track that kick-started Years & Years’ journey towards chart domination over the past couple of years.
The first single to give them a top 40 hit in their native UK, it introduced us to a band who would go on to win the BBC Sound of 2015 prize and be nominated for the Critics Choice gong at the Brit Awards.
Then ‘King’ came and blew every one of their releases that came before it out of the water.
So it makes sense that they’re giving ‘Desire’ another little push before presumably closing off the ‘Communion’ phase of their career; roping in the vocal talents of Swedish pop starlet Tove Lo to distinguish it from its previous incarnation.
The video’s a cracker too; Ollie once again drowning in his emotions (ala the ‘King’ clip), later giving in to his every desire with women, men, young, old, black and white.
