Estonia are either really really hot or really really cold at Eurovision; there’s seemingly no in between for them.
In the 22 years they’ve competed, they’ve been in the top ten nine times (Bueller…?), placing third in 2002 and even winning in 2001. Conversely, they’ve failed to make it to the Grand Final eight times and have placed 20 or below in the Grand Final four times.
So will Estonia be very very hot or very very not in 2016? That’s all in the hands of former reality TV singing competition winner Jüri Pootsmann and his single ‘Play’, which he’ll perform in the first of the semi finals on May 10.
He’s got an incredibly deep, slightly unusual voice for a 21 year old; that might help him stand out against the rest of the pack.
To be honest, we’re not really sure what to make of it, however. You play. You decide.
