Right, over to Lithuania’s entry to Eurovision 2016 to kick off your working week.
The country will compete right in the middle of the second semi final; a position that probably won’t work too well in their favour if they’ve not got such a favourable song.
The Lithuanians have never placed higher than sixth in the competition since they began competing full time in 2004 and out of all the other years, they’ve not made it anywhere near the top ten.
The best they’ve done in the past ten years is a 14th place finish in the Grand Final back in 2012, all thanks to a young singer songwriter by the name of Donny Montell.
So wouldn’t you know it? They’ve once again turned to Donny in 2016 to help bring them Eurovision glory.
We suspect Donny actually lives for the Eurovision competition; he’s participated in the national selection process in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2016.
The song’s not bad. It’s a mid-tempo electronic-driven pop song with plenty of commercial appeal that’s sure to earn a few votes across the continent. A lot will hinge on the performance, however. Sept points.
