Malta has endured a bag of mixed results at the Eurovision Song Contest in the past decade or so, failing to make the grand final five times in the past ten years.
Their best ever result in the competition was the second place they scored in 2005 (thanks to Chiara) and in 2002 (thanks to Ira Losco). And wouldn’t know you know it, they’re looking to the past this year in the hope of looking to the future.
Yes, 14 years after her second place finish, Ira Losco will once again take the stage for Malta this year in the hope of making it through to the pointy end of the competition.
She’ll be performing the single ‘Walk On Water’.
With its pacey drum ‘n’ bass beats and soaring gospel flourishes, it doesn’t feel a million miles away from Emeli Sandé’s classic ‘Heaven’… certainly no bad thing in our books.
This should easily make it through to the Grand Final. We’re giving it dix points.
