Reece Mastin has hit the promotional trail today in support of his new music video.
He kicked the morning off with appearances on breakfast and morning TV to spruik the clip for ‘Heartache Blues’, the second official single release from his latest album ‘Change Colours’.
“Heartache Blues’ is a song about being away from the people, places, and spaces you miss so much when you couldn’t be further away from them,” Reece explains. “It’s a gut-wrenching feeling at the start, but on your way home there’s nothing better than the feeling of getting closer to being back there.”
And it would appear that Reece may be suffering his own case of heartache blues soon, being chosen (and funded) by APRA/AMCOS to head to Los Angeles early next month to take part in SongHubs, which aims to connect local songwriters with some of the best in the international business to create new works for the Australian and international markets. Quite the honour.
Hopefully he doesn’t go too stir crazy in a motel room to the extend that the subject in the music video does… well, at least not to the point of busting out the hula hoops for entertainment!
