You remember Sam And The Womp, right? The British-based outfit who conquered charts across the globe with their breakout smash ‘Bom Bom’ back in late 2012?
That very same song that’s since popped up in high profile advertising campaigns for a swag of companies, including Kmart?
Right, well they’re back, hoping that lightning can strike twice with their fresh new single ‘Fireflies’.
Once again we’ve got the alluring vocals of Dutch songstress Bloom de Wilde leading the way, over that familiar trumpeting sound of main man Sam Ritchie and a driving dance beat, which has been helped along by the inclusion of new band member Daniel Griffiths.
“We are proud of what we have written together this year and are enjoying experimenting by mixing different genres, from dance to dub, funk and beyond,” Sam says. “It’s flowing very spontaneously and we welcome my cousin Dan to the team, he is a massive young talent.”
The clip is inspired by the name of the track itself and it’s described perfectly by the lady of the manor.
“There is a magical feeling about it,” says Bloom. “I imagine exploring a fairy-tale forest on a beautiful summer night… having a party with the fireflies!”
