Introducing ‘Take It’, the brand new single from Melbourne producer/songwriter dxHeaven and our latest auspOp premiere.
The artist (real name Nicholas Lam) has had a busy couple of years, following up the late 2014 release of his EP ‘Aftertouch’ with a visit to Paris to attend the Red Bull Music Academy, all the while working hard on the new tunes that will form part of his next project.
He’s also been busy producing and mixing for others, including mixing for fellow Melburnians Au Dré, with whom he’ll share the billing at a double launch in the Victorian capital at the city’s Gasometer hotel next Friday night.
But back to that single…
After opening with a cacophony of chimes, ‘Take It’ overflows with ’80s realness, instantly reminding the listener of Billy Ocean’s classic ‘When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going’ (certainly no bad thing in our books), albeit sweetened further by Nicholas’ caramel-like vocal.
Gosh we have some incredible talent in this country. Add dxHeaven to the list.
