Conrad Sewell’s little sister Grace may have beaten her big brother to the No.1 spot on the ARIA singles chart with her smash cover of Leslie Gore’s classic ‘You Don’t Own Me’, but success beyond that one single has so far evaded her.
Undeterred, however, Grace has returned with a fresh new single entitled ‘Hell Of A Girl’, the first single from her forthcoming debut album, which the team at Sony tells us will be out sometime later this year.
The track was delivered to Australian media early on Friday morning to coincide with its digital release.
Not wanting to alienate her audience from the ‘You Don’t Own Me’ era too much, ‘Hell Of A Girl’ could itself have been ripped straight from the heart of the 1960s.
She’s bound to rope in those who appreciated Amy Winehouse’s back catalogue and she wraps her pipes around some incredibly beautiful vocal flourishes.
The clip’s quite cool… Grace discovers her man cheating on her. She finds a new man. Her old man discovers his new girl cheating on him. Grace drives by in her new man’s; her old man spying her in her new ride.
It’s a story as old as time.
