Last time we caught up with the boys from Gypsy & The Cat (the video for their previous single ‘Inside Your Mind’), they were prowling the streets of Tokyo, trying to track down a cat with an oversized head.
They didn’t at the time, but warned us that the adventures of said feline would be “catinued”.
True to their word, Lionel and Xavier have now served up the second (and final) exciting instalment of the series, with the clip for their new single ‘I Just Wanna Be Somebody Else’.
In it, said cat has ventured to the golf driving range, practising his swinging technique. He’s not having much success.
He drowns his sorrows with a quick stop at the convenience store before heading out into the Tokyo nightlife on the train, no hint of the chase that cat-tured out attention in the previous clip.
“The video highlights escapism in all of our quotidian days,” Xavier explains. “We all at some point want someone else’s car or house or hair or job or life; it’s a very normal mental process in the everyday.”
The cat’s body language says plenty about his feelings about his life, but hello…? Spending time in one of the most exciting cities in the world…?
