It’s not often we see Jason Derulo in a music video with his clothes on these days, but that’s precisely where the clip for his latest single ‘If It Ain’t Love’ starts out; a mundane office environment, with the R&B superstar watching the clock and counting down the minutes ’til home time.
But it appears he’s intent on the others in the office going home so that he can spend time with the object of his affections, who’s just a few small desks away.
A few fancy dance moves later and he’s coaxed her out of her chair to join him in a high-energy routine across the office. Just one minute and 25 seconds in and his jacket’s gone. The dancing continues across the room, up the walls, on the ceiling, atop the stairs. But that’s just what’s happening in the office environment.
Elsewhere, he’s in the spotlight being groped by anonymous hands. In these scenes, his shirt’s gone.
Co-directed by Jason himself, there’s rarely any let-up in the four-plus minute clip, which (as is the norm these days) comes with a couple of product placements for good measure.
But for pure relentless energy, it’s a cracker.
