Rachel Platten’s career started with quite the bang; her breakout smash ‘Fight Song’, which blasted its way into the top ten on charts across the planet throughout last year. It even hit No.1 in the UK, if you don’t mind.
But its follow-up, ‘Stand By You’, didn’t achieve quite the same amount of success, merely edging its way into the top 20 here in Australia for a brief time.
The album ‘Wildfire’ followed on New Year’s Day (while we were all recuperating from the previous night’s shenanigans), but she’s been pretty quiet on the music front since. Until now.
According to the opening few frames of the clip for her new single ‘Better Place’, Rachel “wanted to conduct a social experiment with her fans”. She’s experimenting on us!?
Well, no, not really. She decided to get families and couples together and get them to stare at each other while her song played in the room.
On paper it sounds a little creepy, but in reality, it’s quite an emotional piece, when you factor in Rachel’s lyrics. And yes, there are tears.
