The whole Gideon Bensen ‘Cold Cold Heart’ package is pretty damned sensational, it has to be said.
The song itself (the title track from the Sydney performer’s debut EP); a borderline pop/rock number with a driving bassline, rock god vocals and lashings of ’80s influences. It’s also got Sony pop goddess Montaigne on backing vocal duty.
The video; a classy tale of love and lust in the confines and surrounds of a regional-looking motel.
“We had a lot of fun filming this,” Gideon says of the video. “The song does have a ‘noir’ edge to it which Sarah Adamson (director) captures in her own David Lynch-esque production. The song talks about what it means to love and be loved.”
All pretty damned impressive, if you ask us.
