Hello Friday! Yes, it’s the sparkly new video from the even sparklier St. Lucia; ‘Help Me Run Away’ the fourth single to be yanked from Jean-Philip and his cohorts’ second album ‘Matter’, which dropped back in January.
The clip opens with a couple seemingly in the throws of separating. The female pops on her favourite pair of red heels, gets a bit huffy and storms out the door. But it would seem that someone – or more specifically something feels a little dejected, deciding to hot foot it after her.
It feels totally like a throwback to the 1980s, with dancing white sneakers, a cast of familiar faces and a soundtrack that’s kind of a blend between Michael Sembello’s ’80s classic ‘Maniac’ and Network’s ‘Back In America’; the latter featured over the credits on ‘National Lampoon’s European Vacation’.
It’s fun, creative, infectious and we could watch it over and over again. It’s brilliant.
