27 year old Sydney performer Alfie Arcuri has won tonight’s Grand Final of ‘The Voice’ 2016 on Channel 9.
In doing so, the popular contestant wins himself a $100,000 cash prize, a new car and a recording contract with the team at Universal Music.
And said recording contract is off to a flying start, with Universal servicing Alfie’s winning single, ‘Cruel’, to Australian media shortly after the show had finished airing on the East Coast (no regard for the other states, obviously).
“I am so proud and honoured to have shared this journey with Alfie as his coach on Team Delta and The Voice season five,” Delta Goodrem said in a pre-prepared statement. “It’s been an incredible season, and I look forward to seeing Alfie develop as an artist who will always have my support.”
‘Cruel’ will be made available on digital platforms tonight to capitalise on his win, while Alfie’s debut album will be released on Friday July 29.
