Aussie favourites Gypsy & The Cat will celebrate the upcoming release of their new album ‘Virtual Islands’ with a national tour throughout September and October.
But the tour will be tinged with a little bit of sadness, after the boys (Lionel and Xavier) announced on their socials yesterday that this album would be their last.
“We have come to a place with the band where we feel like we have achieved the things it set out to, and are incredibly proud of the catalogue of music that we’ve built along the way,” the boys said in a statement.
“We are like brothers, Lionel and I, and this is in no way a sad or bitter thing, we speak every day in fact, instead it’s more of a decision to keep growing as individuals and explore our artistic limits in different incarnations.”
There’s no doubt, then, that tickets for the tour, which kicks off with a free gig at Thredbo on September 09, are going to sell like hotcakes. Get them while you can.
