It’s a huge day for Melbourne popsters Northeast Party House, with not only a new single doing the rounds, but confirmation of a new album to boot. And if that wasn’t enough to whet your whistle, there’s also a national tour too! Though sadly, no steak knives.
Seriously likeable new single ‘For You’ premiered on Triple J last night.
“It recalls a time two people shared together,” guitarist Mitch Ansell explains. “Although this time has passed, there is hope that this will be experienced again. We wanted the music to feel reminiscent and compliment the story of this modern relationship yet still create something that will translate to a live audience.”
We reckon they’ve succeeded on all counts there… And they might, with a little luck and more adventurous music directors, even score themselves a bit of commercial love.
‘For You’ is the lead single from the band’s upcoming album ‘Dare’, recorded in both London and the band’s hometown, which is the follow-up to their 2014 debut ‘Any Given Weekend’. It’s due at retail on Friday September 09.
Then to top all of this excitement off, there’s also a national tour throughout September and into early October. But it’s Darwin that’s set to get the first taste of the new stuff, with the band popping up at the Darwin Festival on August 06.
Tickets for the tour are on sale this Friday at 9am AEST.
