Some of the world’s biggest pop stars have come together to release a new single entitled ‘Hands’, to benefit the victims (and their families) of the recent massacre in Orlando.
A product of a collaboration between GLAAD (the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) and Interscope Records, the single features appearances by the likes of Britney Spears, Selena Gomez, Adam Lambert, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Jason Derulo, Imagine Dragons, Meghan Trainor, RuPaul and P!nk, as well as our own Troye Sivan.
It will be released exclusively on iTunes here in Australia later tonight and all proceeds raised from its sale will go towards Equality Florida Pulse Victims Fund, the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida and GLAAD.
The track was penned by Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels and BloodPop and was co-produced by Tranter, BloodPop and Mark Ronson.
“The second I heard about this horrible tragedy where so many of my LGBTQ brothers and sisters lost their lives, I immediately got on a plane to Orlando to volunteer my help anyway I could,” Justin reveals in a statement. “Putting this charity single together is just a way for me, and everyone involved to keep volunteering our help and promote peace and love in the world.”
