We love supporting Australian talent here at auspOp. We also love nothing more than supporting new up and coming Australian talent.
So we’re thrilled today to be able to premiere the debut single for a fresh new talent out of Sydney’s west; Carla Wehbe.
Due digitally on Friday August 12, ‘Electric Field’ is an incredibly confident stride into the industry from the young starlet, who’s been working alongside Aussie super producer Vince Harder (Samantha Jade and Stan Walker) on her material, more of which will see the light of day towards the end of this month with the release of her debut EP.
“The main theme (of the EP) is the different emotions you go through during different experiences in life, and what connects us as humans,” Carla explains. “We’re such complex beings and I wanted to explore that as well as creating music that the listener can have fun with, be a little crazy to, and still sing along to without it being too deep.”
The song itself is decidedly fresh and right up to the minute as far as production goes; the kind of track that could be ripped straight from an album by Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez and starlets of their ilk.
“Although the lyrics seemingly describe a relationship between two people, that’s not actually what I want people to be limited to thinking of,” she says. “I want people to be a little more open-minded with the meaning and to create their own.”
Look for Carla Wehbe’s debut EP ‘Electric Field’ at retailers everywhere on Friday August 26.
