Keen-eyed observers of our NEW RELEASE SCHEDULE over the weekend might have seen that US jazz/pop singer Norah Jones will release her new album ‘Day Breaks’ in early October.
According to her label EMI, Norah’s sixth LP will very much complement ‘Come Away With Me’, her 2002 jazz/blues-laden debut album which set her on a path to superstardom and sales of more than 26 million copies.
“This new album feels full circle because I’m going back to my early influences,” she says in a statement. “After the first record, I drifted away from the piano a little bit. I still played it, but was more inspired to write on guitar. I really loved playing piano on this record.”
‘Day Breaks’ will comprise three cover versions, but nine new original recordings, including lead single ‘Carry On’, the video for which you’ll find below. Look for the album at retailers everywhere on October 07.
