Tuuuuune! It mightn’t be summer just yet, but Melbourne brothers Two Can have certainly got us in the mood for that warmer weather with their cracking new single ‘Holding On To You’.
Brothers Oscar and Myles have already piqued the interest of our national broadcaster with their singles ‘Fire’, ‘Your Girl’ and ‘Double Edge’ thus far, but will go one further next month when they drop their debut EP entitled ‘Continuance’.
Of the single, on which they collaborate with Brisbane vocalist Savoi, they say, “‘Holding On To You’ is the product of our history in dance music production with our early days as jazz, rock and blues instrumentalists.
“With this particular track, we wanted to incorporate a number of live rhythmic and melodic instruments that we could also use to perform. It’s a shift away from our club inspired sounds to a more organic, raw acoustic one.
“We wanted this song to be something you could listen to with your nan, at a club or cruising down the beach.”
Let’s just say they’ve triumphed on all counts.
When it comes to soulful, danceable, bright, breezy and utterly likeable dance/pop music, ‘Holding On To You’ is proof that Two Can play that game.
