Iconic Aussie outfit Crowded House will play two very special live shows at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt in late November, just days after being inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame.
Encores to their legendary ‘Farewell To The World’ show 20 years earlier, these will be the band’s only appearances anywhere in the world in 2016.
“I am excited to announce two ‘Encore’ performances on the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House,” Nick Seymour said in a statement. “The shows will mark the 20th anniversary of our break-up concert. ‘Proper order!’ I say, as being at the top of our game, I didn’t want to break up in the first place!
“I’ve come to realise ‘the top of our game’ is whenever we get together so please join us for a f*ck off sing song, an off-piste jam session, a toast to absent friends and NO RAIN”.
The news gets better for Crowded House fans too, with every one of the band’s six classic albums getting the deluxe treatment, the re-issues, due on November 04, “unlocking a wealth of rare material”, including home demos, previously unreleased studio recordings, b-sides and other rarities.
A fan club pre-sale kicks off at 9am on Tuesday morning (September 20), Telstra Thanks has a 48 hour pre-sale for customers from 10am this Wednesday, before general public tickets go live to the public from 10am on Monday September 26.
