The countdown to the 2016 ARIA Awards continues today with the announcement of the nominees in the Artisan, Fine Arts and Comedy Awards categories.
And if these nominations are any indication, it’s going to be a big year for both Flume and The Avalanches, both of whom are nominated in each of the three artisan categories; Producer Of The Year, Engineer Of The Year and Best Cover Art.
Delta Goodrem scores a nod for the cover of her latest album ‘Wings Of The Wild’, while Troye Sivan also gets nods in both the Producer Of The Year and Engineer Of The Year categories.
Kate Miller-Heidke also scores nominations in the Fine Arts categories of Best Original Soundtrack/Cast/Show album and Best Comedy release, the latter for her imaginatively titled ‘I’m Growing A Beard Downstairs For Christmas’.
“Congratulations to all of this year’s nominees in the Fine Arts, Artisan and Best Comedy Awards,” ARIA Chairman Denis Handlin said. “To be nominated for an ARIA is a wonderful achievement and is a credit to their talent, dedication and passion to their craft.”
The winners of each of these awards will be announced at ARIA’s nominations event this Wednesday, at which we’ll discover just who’s up for each of the pointy gongs in the mainstream categories.
The 2016 ARIA Awards are held at Sydney’s Star Event Centre on Wednesday November 23.
