Before you press play on the clip for Bastille’s new single ‘Send Them Off’, we should warn you that it’s quite the trip.
Here’s a young man wandering the streets of the city, glancing at the passing procession of faceless beings around him, all the while being hunted down by some kind of horned beast.
It doesn’t matter how fast, how far or where he runs, said creature is hot on his tail.
Through hallways, into rooms with a woman exhaling bugs, into rustic buildings (hi Bastille!), through a party where everyone’s blindfolded and into a space where two couples are madly kissing as the room burns around them.
He’s led to join the congregation at the church; seemingly the only place he’s safe from the horned beast, but it would appear he’s not really keen on becoming merely another droid. So what’s he to do?
Big horns, big production, a great hook and an intriguing clip all congregate to make Bastille’s ‘Send Them Off’ an interesting single proposition.
