She might be only 21 years of age, but UK artist The Japanese House (aka Amber Bain) is making all the right moves with her new single ‘Face Like Thunder’.
It’s a spectacular first glimpse into the world that will be her third EP, ‘Swim Against The Tide’, which is due to drop in the middle of November.
It all kicks off with bubbling electronic production (that’s reminded us somehow of ‘Storms In Africa’ from Enya’s breakthrough 1988 album ‘Watermark’), joined by exquisitely layered vocals, before a burst of fresh beats and instrumentation comes to life around the 55 second mark.
It’s all accompanied by a superb filmic video shot in the desert, partly in the blazing heat and partly in the cool of the setting sun. Altogether gorgeous, really.
The ‘Swim Against The Tide’ EP lands everywhere on Friday November 11.
