It’s been a wet start to the 2016 ARIA Awards, with some of the country’s biggest music talents forced to dodge rain, thunderstorms and masses of umbrellas as they made their way down the red carpet.
A number of Sony’s local stable stars were among the first to brave the rain, as it came down intermittently between occasional audience squeals.
The media was also forced to wrestle for position, with an unprecedented number of outlets (TV, radio, press and online) taking up space on the ARIAs carpet for its 30th anniversary outing.
EMI pop superstar Troye Sivan was one of the last to walk the red carpet, with some artists forgoing a trek through the rain to reach the Star Event Centre stairs.
The 2016 ARIA Awards are about to kick off.
