It’s a brand new year – and we have a brand new Artist Of The Month.
Today we’re thrilled to introduce our Artist Of The Month for January, Melbourne pop rock band Masketta Fall.
Previously signed to Universal Music and releasing their breakout single ‘Summertime Girls’, the boys have now embarked on a fresh independent career, enlisting the help of a Kickstarter campaign to fund the release of their debut album.
Due to their largely supportive fanbase they more than doubled their goal and recently released that all important debut album, ‘Golden’.
The boys recently caught up with Brad in Sydney for a lengthy chat and we’ll be bringing you features with them all throughout the month of January, so stay tuned.
There are interview snippets, the boys give us a ‘track by track’ rundown of the album and treat us to an exclusive performance of their current single ‘I Believe’, recorded at Uncanny Valley Studios in Glebe.
So sit back and enjoy part one below, in which the boys sit down with Brad and dont hold back as they talk about leaving the record label, embarking on their Kickstarter campaign and give us their perspective on the state of the Australian music industry and pop music specifically.
If you like the video above, please subscribe to auspOp on YouTube and give it a ‘thumbs up’.
Next week, catch part two of the interview, in which Masketta Fall discuss each of the pledges for their Kickstarter campaign including doing private shows acros the country and giving away their prized possessions.
