Finland doesn’t have a spectacular history at the Eurovision Song Contest, having come stone cold last nine times in the past.
But they did win it back in 2006 when Lordi rocked the competition with their ‘Hard Rock Hallelujah’.
In 2017, however, they’ll be represented by a duo by the name of Norma John, the members of which are named neither Norma nor John.
Lasse Piirainen and Leena Tirronen have penned this original track entitled ‘Blackbird’ hoping that it’ll take flight beyond the first of the semi-finals on May 09 and make its way through to the Grand Final four nights later.
Leena, who placed third in the 2010 Finnish edition of ‘The X Factor’, has a gorgeous voice and it suits the ethereal nature of this track perfectly. Beautiful though it may be, however, it doesn’t really go anywhere.
And we’re not sure it’ll score enough votes to make it past the semi final stage.
Cinq points.
