The long-awaited repackages of Prince’s classic album ‘Purple Rain’ will land at retailers everywhere on June 23.
Two new versions of the classic LP are incoming; a two disc deluxe edition and a deluxe expanded edition containing a third disc and a DVD. Both will feature previously unreleased material.
Digital pre-orders, which are already live, come with an instant download of the previously unreleased ‘Electric Intercourse’.
According to Prince’s label Warner, the ‘From The Vault & Unreleased’ disc comprises 11 songs “unearthed from the heart of Prince’s storied vault”.
The third disc on the expanded deluxe edition features a raft of single edits and b-sides.
And the DVD is the full Prince & The Revolution live concert, filmed at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, NY on March 30, 1985. Audio and video has been fully restored from the original masters.
Both editions will be released on Friday June 23.
