After a disappointing showing last year, Greece will be hoping to bounce back in the first semi final of Eurovision 2017.
Last year, the Greeks didn’t even make it into the Grand Final, so it’ll be up to stage and music star Demy to rectify the situation this year.
Like most countries, Greece has experienced a mixed bag when it comes to Eurovision Competition.
They’ve withdrawn twice, placed third three times and even won in 2005 (thanks to Helena Paparizou’s ‘My Number One’).
But 2016 was the first and only time they’ve failed to make it through to the Grand Final.
‘This Is Love’ is classic Eurovision; starting off as a touching ballad before exploding into a dance number just after the one minute mark.
It’s also incredibly commercial; the kind of track that would work well on Aussie radio right now.
Who knows, given we’re a massive Greek speaking country, a lot of our votes could go Greece’s way in 2017.
And we’re sure that this year, Greece won’t suffer the ignominy of failing to reach the Grand Final.
Neuf points.
