As one of the “big five” countries, we’ll only be seeing Spain performing once at Eurovision 2017.
But if the latest odds are any indication, that may be just as well.
See, they’re not performing very strongly. In fact, there’s a distinct possibility they could finish at the bottom of the pack.
Naturally, Manel Navarro will be hoping this isn’t the case and will be giving it his all on Grand Final night (a week from today) to ensure it’s not.
The 21 year old, who’s signed to Sony Music in his homeland, co-penned Spain’s Eurovision entry.
Look, it’s a sweet song. And Manel has a lovely soft vocal.
But the track itself feels like it could have been ripped straight from the catalogue of Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper etc etc. So a soft, summery surf sound.
It’s not especially original, it’s a little repetitive… Trois points.
