Even before Ed Sheeran’s Australian tour officially goes on sale next Tuesday, it’s already turning into a monster.
Massive demand for tickets for each of his Australian dates has forced the hand of Frontier Touring, who’ve today confirmed a second show at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium, a second show at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium and an unprecedented third concert at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium.
The addition of the new dates (as well as extra shows in New Zealand) sees Ed become the equal record holder for most stadium shows on a single Australia/New Zealand tour (tied with AC/DC).
“I’m overwhelmed with the response, to match that record is very humbling,” Ed remarked in a statement. “I really can’t wait to get down there.”
Due to the unprecedented demand, Frontier have also shifted the on-sale time for the Sydney shows. Tickets for the dual ANZ Stadium shows will now go on sale at 6pm AEST.
General public tickets to all dates are on sale on Tuesday May 23, albeit at staggered times across the country.
Melbourne’s the first to go (1pm local time), followed by Brisbane (2pm local time), Sydney (6pm local time), Adelaide (3:30pm local time) and Perth (3pm local time).
