Andrew De Silva and his band will pay tribute to pop megastar Prince in a series of shows kicking off later this week.
It’s just another chapter in what’s an extraordinarily busy year for Andrew; a new CDB album, supporting both Keith Sweat and Peter Andre on their respective national tours, as well as headline shows for CDB themselves.
Now he’s throwing in a series of concerts called ‘A Tribute To Prince – Purple Revolution Tour’.
“Prince has been a major influence in everything from my singing, to guitar riffs to my bass grooves, live performances
& production,” Andrew explains.
“He’s been very inspirational artistically as well. Never afraid to be himself. I love being a multi-instrumentalist as well.
“I always felt that it was important to play as many instruments as possible on a track, because it’s all coming from the same soul. Prince was the ultimate inspiration for this.
“As time passes after his death, I realise that we may not see another one like him again.”
At this stage, the shows are centred mainly around the suburbs of Andrew’s hometown of Melbourne.
But we’ve been told to expect the announcement of further dates into the future.
