Yes, that’s Shane Filan, formerly of Westlife fame, dropping ‘Unbreakable’, the lead single from his upcoming third solo album.
‘Love Always’ is the name of the new LP and it’s due to land precisely a month from now.
And it’s seemingly a covers set; new versions of *NSync’s ‘This I Promise You’, Crowded House’s ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’, Bob Dylan’s ‘Make You Feel Me Love’, The Bangles’ ‘Eternal Flame’ etc etc.
This song is a cover of a track by UK singer songwriter Jamie Scott (who penned a swag of One Direction’s material). It was featured on his 2014 album ‘My Hurricane’.
Now Shane aims to bring it to the fore.
It’s a pleasant enough song… the right blend of the feels and a mid-tempo mainstream pop melody that should appeal to both radio and fans of his former boyband. But we’re not sure it’s going to give Shane a No.1 hit.
