Just ten days after revealing his new single ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’ to the world, Sam Smith unleashes its music video.
The track’s already done rather well for itself, thanks very much.
It debuted at No.1 on the ARIA singles chart over the weekend, gifting the British soul/pop star his first ever Aussie No.1.
Naturally, he and his label will be wishing to strike while the iron’s hot.
Enter then the video.
We open on Sam, head bowed, in a studio space.
We’re then transported to a field in a semi-rural setting somewhere (presumably) in the UK.
Then Sam’s back on screen again, this time performing the track to camera while a pianist plays in the lane behind him.
What unfolds over the next few minutes are a series of little stories; each featuring people having to say goodbye to something (or someone) they cherish. It’s totes emosh.
