As the ‘no’ campaign ramps up its efforts this weekend, Alfie Arcuri declares ‘Love Is Love’ with his latest single.
The 2016 winner of ‘The Voice’ today releases his emotional self-written track that comes just at the right time; the marriage equality debate has become more vitriolic in recent weeks.
“The time has come for our voices to be heard,” Alfie declares. “This is much greater than just marriage, this is about acceptance and human rights.”
And he has some serious support in his corner (his nonna recently voted ‘yes’ in the government’s survey).
“It was a very emotional moment for me when my nonna voted yes – particularly knowing how much she struggled in the beginning with my sexuality.
“I knew her love for me conquered all and it reminded me that love has no boundaries and the importance of fighting for what you believe in and in your right to love whoever you want.”
‘Love Is Love’ is available at digital providers today.
