British starlet Rita Ora could have popped up anywhere for the video for her new single, but she chose the bright lights of New York.
And there’s nowhere more quintessentially New York than right slap bang in the middle of Times Square.
That’s where all the action kicks off, but there’s also a smattering of Le Bain at the Standard Highline Hotel to follow (i.e. Madonna’s ‘Bitch I’m Madonna’ video and where Solange slapped Jay-Z in the lift).
There’s lots to like about this video. Yes, it’s like a postcard from the city that never sleeps, but it’s also colourful, engaging and there’s enough location shots and costumery in it to keep your focus for the three minutes and 42 seconds.
Add in the intriguing pop/dance soundtrack, with its chopped vocals post-chorus and we’ve got a refreshing piece of pop.
