Winners are grinners… The 2017 ARIA Awards winners’ list looked a little Sony-heavy, with a stack of the pointy gongs going in the major label’s direction.
Their young talent Amy Shark gushed about her label in accepting one of two of her awards on the night; Best Pop Release and Breakthrough Artist Of The Year.
Gang Of Youths, who led the nominations race alongside Paul Kelly, picked up three awards, including Best Group, Best Rock Album and Apple Music Album Of The Year.
And though they didn’t win Best Dance Release, the public voted Sony’s Peking Duk to take home the Apple Music Song Of The Year trophy for their hit single ‘Stranger’.
Even former One Direction star Harry Styles picked up an award… for Best International Act.
The awards were kept short, with a number of edits clearly seen throughout the night… even the nominees lists were noticeably brief, unlike some of Richard Wilkins’ announcements.
So enjoy the wrap… the 2017 ARIA Awards winners…
