Across the Christmas/New Year period there are bound to be a few tracks we miss. L.A Faithfull’s ‘Heart Back’ is one of those tracks.
The Melbourne-based songstress dropped the track just one week out before Christmas.
Its music video (below) dropped a couple of days after to give it a little kick along.
But it seems to have got lost in the Christmas/New Year mire. Until now, that is.
“‘Heart Back’ is about the moment when you fall apart and realise that maybe no one will ever be able to put back together those tiny pieces of your heart that feel like they are lost when tragedy strikes,” the songstress explains.
“I actually wrote the lyrics the night I found out my dad had prostate cancer… I was going through the motions of looking at my dad’s face when he had to tell us, and watching my mum’s reaction of pure fear – and then feeling that it will never be the same again.
“Even when you have good days, you’re always worried about the next bit of bad news.”
Though its lyrical content may be a little on the dark side, the song is balanced out by the beautiful electronic production work of the boys from MSquared Productions in Melbourne.
There’s also a stripped back, but visually engaging music video to boot.
